Juniper Power Supply Commands

Most Juniper equipment supports the ‘show chassis power’ command to give detailed input about the power supplies. The MX204 uses ‘show chassis environment pem’ instead, where ‘pem’ is an acryonym for ‘power entry module’.

In this example, PEM 0 either has failed, or is not installed. PEM 1 is operating normally.

james@mx204> show chassis environment pem
PEM 0 status:
  State Empty
  Health check Information:
      Status: Unsupported
PEM 1 status:
  State Online
  Airflow Front to Back
  Temp Sensor 0 OK 31 degrees C / 87 degrees F

  Temp Sensor 1 OK 33 degrees C / 91 degrees F

  Firmware version 00.05
  Fan Sensor 6030 RPM
  DC Output Voltage(V) Current(A) Power(W) Load(%)
                        11.00 8 88 13
  Health check Information:
      Status: Unsupported

In this example, PEM 1 is installed but not connected to input power.
