Bamford Edge, near the Ladybower Reservoir.
Setting off from home for the Peak District at a leisurely pace on a Saturday morning leaves just the afternoon for walking, so a short walk along Bamford Edge was ideal. I did the walk in pretty much ideal conditions, though I can imagine the area being just as scenic with some low cloud or mist. These rock formations, all along the edge, would make for some interesting photographs in any weather.
A little further along the edge the Ladybower dam comes into clear view, as does the well-known white bridge in the middle. Just to the left of the bridge in this photograph are the twin small peaks of Crook Hill, which I climbed when I was last in the Peak District in October.
