travel > Port of Barcelona
Just a short walk from Barceloneta, where I stayed in Barcelona, lies the edge of the Port of Barcelona. It is a fully functioning port, handling cruise ships and a sizeable chunk of Spain’s maritime imports and exports. The port lies close to the former shipyards, which have now been turned into the Barcelona Maritime Museum, which I visited later on in the same day.
Container cranes in the distance handle the largest container ships.

The sea wall is flat and provides a good opportunity for cycling.

A marina full of privately owned craft, with a cruise ship and tanker in the background.

A road bridge provides access to the port.

Looking back from the port, towards Barceloneta.
