All of the London YHAs can be reached by train. YHA London Central is the easiest to reach from central London, itself being within walking distance of the major railway terminii of Euston, Kings Cross, Marylebone and Paddington. It is also very close to several Underground stations, the nearest being Great Portland Street.

The full opening of the Windrush line, part of the London Overground network, in 2007, improved transport links to YHA Thameside, which was itself opened fourteen years earlier, in 1993. The walk from Rotherhithe Overground station to YHA Thameside is short and follows the River Thames.

YHA Lee Valley, though some way outside of the city centre, is conveniently located next to Cheshunt Overground station.
