Climbing Pike of Blisco
On my second and final day in the Lakes on this trip, I climbed Pike of Blisco.
The path begins from the road which runs past the campsite. Turning right away from the road, it’s a single, easy to follow route up to the summit.
Continuing along the path, Side Pike and more of Great Langdale comes into view.
After a long, but thanks to the well made footpath, easy, climb, the summit comes into view. A little scrambling is required to get to the summit, which is deceptively close in this photograph.
Finally, the true summit of Pike of Blisco.
The views from the summit are so spectacular that I couldn’t pick just one photograph to include here, so here are two.
And another photograph…
Finally, on the way back down from Pike of Blisco, following a route that is simply the reverse of the route up, the low sun created a wonderful golden light.
