2023-03-28 Conwy Quay

A sunny afternoon in Conwy took me to the quay. I have visited Conwy Quay a few times before, but the peace and beauty of the place, which is a stone’s throw from the town centre, bring me back again and again.

Conwy Quay

It is a working harbour, and whilst I was there, I saw a fishing boat come in and moor at the southern end of the quay, near to the three iconic bridges; the current road bridge, built in 1958, the old suspension road bridge, and the box railway bridge.

As I was photographing the boats, a gentleman, interested in the camera I was using (an Olympus E-620), struck up a conversation with me. With him was Chloe, a search and rescue dog, whom he kindly allowed me to photograph.

All in all, it was a lovely afternoon. On my way back to YHA Conwy, where I was staying, I popped into The Albion for a swift half. The Albion is, in my opinion, the best pub in Conwy, serving a wide range of local craft ales. It is also, conviently, the one closest to the youth hostel.
