Buttermere

A circuit of Buttermere, mostly in the rain. I started by Syke Farm, on the strip of land between Buttermere and Crummock Water, and walked an anti-clockwise circuit.

Horse Close protrudes into the lake. Sheep rest on the pebble beach at the edge of Horse Crag. The summit of Fleetwith Pike, in the background, is just obscured by cloud.

Having crossed the stream feeding Buttermere at Peggy’s Bridge, I returned along the other side of the lake, and captured this view of the edge of Gatesgarth Farm.
