travel > West Runton
A circular route from Sheringham Common to West Runton beach takes in plenty of pleasant and varied scenery. Starting from Sheringham, some quiet residential streets lead to the common, then into the woods. Here, I saw two monkjack deer, but they both fled before I could take a good photograph.
The path leads past a quarry and up to a viewpoint, from which all of Sheringham and West Runton can be seen.
A path from the viewpoint leads down to West Runton beach.
Finally, the direct route to Sheringham along the coast path is taken, giving more views of West Runton beach. This photograph was taken from close to the summit of Beeston Bump, a 63m high prominence at the eastern edge of Sheringham.
